The studio
A separate building in the garden, lit from above and from the west, and worked in for years.
The studio is its own building: white walls, a sloped ceiling with rooflights on both pitches, a fireplace, a wooden floor, and a door that opens straight out onto the grass and the water beyond it. Big tables, a deep sink, and north light and west light at the same time.
It has been a painting studio for the last few years. It would work as well for anything else that needs quiet, space and daylight.
