Drimnin sits at the north-western corner of Morvern, on the Sound of Mull. The approach is by the single-track road that runs west from Lochaline along the coast – the last stretch is slow; it's all spectacular.
Lochaline, about 25 minutes away, has a small, regular ferry across to Fishnish on Mull, from where it's a short journey to Tobermory or to one of Mull's white-sand beaches. Eastward, the road out of Morvern meets the Corran Ferry and then the A82 for Fort William and the road south. Ardnamurchan, Ardgour and Sunart are all within reach on the same day.
It's around 2 hours from Oban, via the ferry, or an hour and a half from Fort William. It's a remote spot, but there is a real community here, with crofts, a primary school, a church and a distillery.
